Sanitary Sewer Flushing Notice
Please be advised that the Village is flushing sewer mains throughout the community starting today June 24 through tomorrow June 25, to remove grit, sand, gravel and greases from the sewer mains. This is a preventative maintenance operation that helps to prevent sewer blockages, odour generation and premature wear on mechanical components.
This work will not affect the majority of property owners or cause disruption to service although there is a possibility that small spills, noise and odours may result in some homes. Here’s why: the sewer cleaning process uses a high pressure water jet to scour the pipe clean. When the water jet passes through the sewer main, the water pressure draws air through the pipes. The air movement has the ability to push out, or pull in the water and air held inside your plumbing and U-shaped traps and this includes your toilets, showers, sinks and floor drains.
We realize that the equipment can be noisy and may disturb residents. Sometimes this cannot be avoided and we appreciate your patience. We also appreciate your patience as some areas of some streets may be blocked by the equipment for short periods of time.

2020 Water and Sewer Works Financial Overview
This information on the Village of Viscount Waterworks & Sewage Works is being provided as required under The Municipalities Regulations.
Public Notice
Notification is sent to the public regarding the availability of the Annual Waterworks Financial Overview with the July water bills.
The following additional information on the Village Waterworks is available at the Municipal Office and on the Village Website:
- The 2021 Waterworks Rate Policy (contains Capital Investment Strategy).
- Ten-Year Capital Plan in place and related sources of funding for the projects
- 2020 Financial Overview of the waterworks
- Waterworks reserves/investments policy and information
- Most recent copy of the waterworks assessment (from 2015)
- Annual Drinking water quality and compliance report (2020)
2020 Audited Financial Statements Available
In accordance to section 185 of The Municipalities Act, on or before June 15 of each year, a municipality shall prepare financial statements of the municipality for the preceding year in accordance with the generally accepted accounting principles for municipal governments recommended from time to time by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
A Municipality Shall publicize its financial statements, or a summary of them and the auditors report of the financial statements, in the manner council considers appropriate by September 1 of the year following the financial year for which the financial statements and report have been prepared.
