Public Works will be Exercising and Flushing Fire Hydrants today. You may notice crews working at Fire Hydrants and see water running down streets. This is part of a routine process necessary to maintain the integrity of the water system and allows us to ensure hydrants are in proper working order. As a result residents in the immediate vicinity may experience temporary water discolouration which is primarily silt and air and does not affect the safety of the water. If you experience this run your cold water faucets for a few minutes until it clears. There may also be temporary shifts in water pressure. We appreciate your patience!
Battery Recycling
The Village is now a partner with the Call2Recycle program as a battery drop off location.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
Dust Control Review
Thank you for your patience as we completed our test section for Dust Control earlier this month. At this time Council is pleased with how the test section using the RAS (Recycled Asphalt Shingles) for dust control on Colborne Ave and the small section of the East Grid is working so far. They will continue to review and see how it holds up over the fall and winter and what it looks like again in the spring in terms of sustainability and maintenance. It is Council’s intention that if all goes well and it holds up as expected, to expand the Dust Control program next spring to additional roads and start it sooner as well.
